The New Rules is one of the best business books I have ever read. Not from the gripping, exciting standpoint, but from the ease of read and the valuable information it contained.

Before I purchased it, I read the reviews and I saw one that had marked it as 1 out of 5. The review goes like this;

“A good read if you are new to the internet. That's all there is to it.
If I get one good idea from each book I read, I'm quite happy.

This book truly has some good ideas like an analysis of the most over-used and under-meaningful phrases in PR. But apart from a handful of nice-to-knows this book is really disappointing. Too many pages for too few need-to-knows.”


I have been working in the IT and Internet Industries for 15 years, so I would not classify myself as “New to the Internet” and I have learned lesson after lesson from this book.

Normally, when I read an educational book, I get my highlighter out and if I read something interesting, I highlight that line or paragraph and then bookmark the page with a Post IT note.

The problem I have with this book, is nearly every page has a Post IT note on it!!!

So, for anyone that is promoting a business or web site online, I would highly recommend this book, easy to read, lots of valuable information for the beginner or advanced and also dozens of links to other useful web sites.
