You got it in one Chris, its a simple process, select the buttons and then paste the code into your site, you can even use a tracking service, but in my honest opinion I cannot fault google analytics for that.

Can I just add that I too am really interested to discover the Addthis / Sharethis links that Paul and co have linked to - I'd very much like to add these to my own websites that I work on, can somebody explain to me how one goes about doing so, i.e. do those websites generate a bit of code that you just copy-and-paste into the code of your web page?

Best wishes,

Chris

Hi Harvey
There is no problem, it is brand new as of this afternoon, thanks to Paul's link for Addthis.
I had previously googled these little things and got onto some scarey sites, one which set all the alarms off with my antivirus, I saw so many websites had them for sharing and I think it is a fantastic tool.
Thanks for checking for me :-)

Hi Lesley

I have looked on your home page and the Addthis code seems to be working when I try. Can you please describe the problem in more detail.

Regards

Harvey

Hi,

You can use http://www.addthis.com as Paul suggests, or another good one is http://www.sharethis.com.

You could also try http://www.flickr.com for some free images and just link them yourself.

As Paul says, linking to anything external will slow your page down a little.

Hope this helps

Compila
