Dear Elen,

We would recommend going to http://www.wordpress.com where you can set up a free blog to try it out, and see if it meets your requirements.

That sounds good. I use ForntPage - which I like - and want to stay with drag-n-drop and all that. Is this how Wordpress works?
cheers,

Hi Elen

Not really. You can just use it out of the box so to speak and it will do everything that you need it to. There are options to edit code for people who wish to, so it gives both options.

Hi Elen,

If you take a look at the WordPress Plugins, there are lots that are related to sharing information, with Facebook, Twitter, Mysapce, YouTube etc. A couple of examples Status Updater By Francesco Castaldo and Twitter Tools by Alex King.

If you want it the other way round whereby content is publiched to your Blog, the you need to connect the various Social Networks to your Blog. i.e. goto Facebook and there should be a facility in there to connect the two of them.

Also, there are facilities in WordPress for Remote Publishing;

Remote Publishing

To post to WordPress from a desktop blogging client or remote website that uses the Atom Publishing Protocol or one of the XML-RPC publishing interfaces you must enable them.

Settings -> Writing

Atom Publishing Protocol

XML-RPC Protocol

We hope that answers your questions.

All the best
