Poker is a journey

Last weekend was a wonderful weekend for one of my friends, he was playing in a $100.00 rebuy tournament online and came 4th securing himself $47,400.00. This HUGE win increased his total winnings for the year to $76,000.00. The amazing part of this is that he is still in college studying to be a maths teacher and only turned 21 last year, Having spent a lot of time playing with him mainly at the local games it is indeed a wonder that someone so young can learn so much and become so successful in such a short time, after all poker is a journey and the journey is a long one, it was once said it is a game that can be learned in five minutes but takes a lifetime to master. Liam has certainly mastered the game producing result after result and will be flying out to Malta next month to play in a €1000 game that he qualified for online. What is really good is that he had a Prop Bet (A side wager) with his friend, the first person to win over 5 figures in a single tournament then the loser would have to play the next Tour of Furness game dressed as a teletubby, needless to say I am looking forward to seeing "Dipsy" turn up at tomorrows game ;)
